An act of kindness...

I was standing in the check-out line at the grocery store last night when I discovered I didn't have any checks or my debit card (which are the only two forms of payment, besides cash, this particular grocery store accepts).

I had the cashier suspend my order long enough for me to make a failed attempt to withdrawal cash using my credit card at an ATM machine located inside the store.
When that didn't work, I decided to go back through the checkout line and have the cashier void off about 2/3 of my groceries --I did happen to have enough cash in my purse to pay for the remaining 1/3 of it.

While I was debating over which groceries to keep and which to leave, a complete stranger walked up to me and told me she would like to give me a blessing...
she told me she would like to help me out by paying for the rest of my groceries!
This woman wanted to give me $40!

I thanked her for the offer, but told her I could not accept her money.
After explaining how I accidentally left my debit card in our other vehicle, and this situation wasn't because I couldn't afford my groceries, she said,
"I understand. Please let me give you this blessing anyways."

This woman would not take "no" for an answer; she also wanted to remain anonymous and just give me the money as a gift!
She told me that she and her husband will be completely debt-free after receiving this year's tax return...and, that in giving this blessing to me, she believes a blessing will be returned to her and her family.

I ended up accepting the generous gift of $40.
I then hugged her and told her it was the nicest thing anyone has ever done for me. It was sort of emotional being the victim of a stranger's complete selfless act of kindness.
I know this is going to sound corny; but, when I walked out of the grocery store last night, I had a smile on my face and a warm-fuzzy feeling in my heart.
It made me want to do the same for someone else...
which I intend to do someday when the opportunity presents itself.
