Fall Pictures

Lots of fall pictures!...9 of them, to be exact. None of them turned out all that well, yet, I could not seem to make a decision about which to include in the post and which to leave out. I think they are all cute in their own unique way...
And, trying to get both kids smiling and looking at the camera at the same time was a completely unrealistic expectation. Jessica was much too interested in looking at and taste-testing the leaves, and Jackson, well, he's 2...what more do I need to say?
Enjoy :)

It's true what they say, kids really do say the darndest things!

...The other night, Jackson came running into the living room wearing only his undies (he had just gone potty and I guess was too lazy to put his pants back on:)). Anyway, he playfully jumped into my lap to give me a big hug; in doing so, I noticed that his undies were slightly damp (from pee-pee because he must've held it a little too long, hence, the slight accident in his undies). I asked him, "Jackson, why are your undies wet?" He thought about it for a moment, knowing that mommy gets upset when he holds it too long and leaks into his undies, then with a serious face, he said, "Because it rained on them, mom..."

...We were at Barnes & Noble reading books. I told Jackson to put away the book we had just finished reading and grab a new one. I pointed him in the right direction (which was only about 10 feet away from where we were sitting), and said, "you go get another book, mommy and Jessica will wait right here for you." He gave me a worried look, and said, "no mommy, I be shy over there..."

My friend, Heidi, came to visit with her daughter, Paige, the other day. Heidi is about 9 months pregnant; before they arrived, I was explaining to Jackson that Heidi has a baby in her tummy. I then said, "do you remember when mommy's tummy was big because I had Jessica in there?" With a confused stare, he lifted up the bottom of my shirt and said, "But mom, you still have big tummy.?"...

Enchanted Forest Slideshow

After we carved our pumpkin last Sunday, we headed off to the Enchanted Forest. This is an annual event held at Hixon Forest in La Crosse. It is a trail for families to walk through; there are over 30 characters handing out candy to the kids. It was beautiful weather --don't let my stocking cap fool you...that's just my way of covering up my dingy hair from not showering in awhile;) Jackson was able to dress up in his Batman costume and go "trick or treating" through the forest, collecting candy. Pumpkin Carving Slideshow

Our family carved a pumpkin last Sunday afternoon. Well, actually, mommy and daddy carved the pumpkin...Jackson played with the wooden spoon, after refusing to touch the "pumpkin guts." "It's icky mom" were his exact words. As for Miss Jessica, well, let's just say there is now one person in our family that knows exactly how a pumpkin tastes.
I took several pictures--as I could not choose which to post and which to leave out, so I put them all into a slideshow. Click on the link below to view. Enjoy!

Brother - Sister Bonding

Here are a few pictures of the kids having fun together...

Jackson and Jessica are really starting to "enjoy" one another. They can just look at each other and start to giggle. Jessica loves to watch every move Jackson makes; she laughs at pretty much everything he does. Jackson, of course, loves the attention he gets from her and even offers to share some of his toys with her.

Tubby Time - Bath time fun!...

Gotta Love the Park!

One of Jackson's favorite places to visit is the park. Any park, really, as long as it has swings and slides-he's happy! I took these pictures at a park near Grandma Barb and Grandpa Terry's house in La Crescent. Just by looking at them, you can tell how much fun he is having. The first one's my favorite...

Jackson enjoying the outdoors.

Wow! What gorgeous fall weather we have had lately! Our family is absolutely loving it; we get outdoors every chance we get. I was able to get a few shots of Jackson playing outside...
Sitting out front, chillin' with excavator, and watching daddy mow the lawn.
"Pow, Pow" -the bubbles didn't stand a chance against Jackson's squirt gun...

...neither did Maverick =)

Our Daughter, the Beetle?

Jessica has just recently discovered that she has the power to roll from her stomach onto her back...she could've physically done this months ago, just hasn't for some reason (neither of our kids were rollers). Anyhow, the bad thing about her accomplishing this milestone is her doing it during naptime! She believes she cannot roll back onto her stomach once she flips over, so, she just lays there, flapping her arms and legs in the air, and crying until someone comes to help her roll back onto her stomach (she has been a stomach sleeper practically since day one and refuses to try to sleep on her back). I went in and snapped a quick picture of her in her flipped over "beetle" position...I know, mean mommy...not to worry, I picked her up and consoled her immediately after. Someday, she'll get a laugh out of this...

My Thursday Daycare Bunch.

Here is a couple pictures of my daycare kids I take care of on Thursdays...
with Ava here too!

"Jumping Jessie!"

This is one of our daughter's favorite past-times...the 'johnny jump-up.'

Here are a few "action shots" --she can get quite a bit of air once she gets going!

Jessica's 6-month Doctor Visit

Jessica had her 6-month doctor visit on September 26th. She weighed in at 18lbs. 8oz.; was 25 1/4 inches long; with a head circumference of 16 1/4 in. ---Those numbers put her somewhere between the 25th and 50th percentile for height and head circumference, and a whopping 90th to 100th percentile for her weight!

"I may be short and chubby, but I sure am a happy girl!"
