Visiting Santa.

While Jason and I were visiting Laura and Chris at their home in Cottage Grove this past weekend, Jackson and Jessica were back home visiting Santa Claus.
Grandma Chris and Grandma Barb took the kids to the annual holiday craft show at the LaCrosse Center, where Santa Claus can always be found getting pictures taken with the kids.
As you can imagine, it took quite awhile for Jessica to "warm up" to Santa. I believe my mom said it was a good 45 minutes before she was able to sit on his lap without crying. Jackson was fine with Santa and his reindeer giving them both hugs and high fives.

Jackson and cousin Logan giving Rudolph a great big hug!

Jessica is not too sure what to think of this Santa guy...

At last...both the kids on his lap for a picture!

Jason's "fashion faux pas"

In case any of you were wondering
what to get Jason for Christmas this year,

I have an idea for you...

How about some nice dress socks?

The other night when Jason came home from work, he sat down on the recliner to relax a bit, and this is what I saw...

I kid you not, he actually wore this to work that day because "all" his two pairs of dress socks were in the dirty laundry pile.

My response to him was, "did you have any meetings with your co-workers today?"
I think it's bad enough to expose 7th graders to this fashion blunder (which I'm sure some of them were able to view), but to have other teachers see this --unacceptable!:)

Jessica's first "boyfriend"

Uh-oh, Jas, looks like our little girl has already gone "boy-crazy":)
Check out these pictures; they are just absolutely hilarious...

That's right, Jessica is in love with Dawson! When he comes over, she tries to hug him; when they sit together on the floor, she places her arm around him and leaves it there the whole time they are sitting. Hee-hee;)
And, Dawson couldn't be a better sport about it. He lets her put her arm around him and hug him and such, only occasionally asking her to stop (rightfully so)...poor guy:)

Enjoying the last of the "nice" weather...

During the last few warmer days of fall, Jason and I took the kids out to enjoy the beautiful weather. We went to a park in La Crosse called Kids' Coulee (a definite favorite of Jackson's...and now, Jessica's too).

Although we're going to miss all the fun we have playing at the parks over the winter, we are definitely (the kids more so than Jason and I) looking forward to that first snowfall and playing in the snow. I think Jackson asks me everyday, "Mom, when is it going to snow?"

Pregnancy: week 15

I am 15 weeks pregnant. Here is a picture of what my "baby bump" looks like right now...

We have a doctor's appointment this Thursday to get my measurements and listen to the baby's heartbeat again. Early December is when our ultrasound will be scheduled for (I'll let you know the date as soon as I know it:)). We intend to find out the sex of the baby at that appointment; I will then post it on my blog for you all to know as well.

50th Wedding Anniversary.

My Grandpa and Grandma Gunderson, Marvin and Bergetta, just recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Some of the family was able to attend a celebratory church service (a statement of congratulations was given in the announcements, and there were supposed to be flowers (that never showed up) placed at the head of the church). The service was held at Central Lutheran church in Winona, the same church Jason and I got married.

Halloween, 2009.

This year, Jackson dressed up as a dinosaur (no big surprise there:))

And, Jessica went as a pumpkin (appropriate since that is my nickname for her).

There was trick or treating at one of our local grocery stores in the a.m.; we went to that as well. I really appreciated the fact they also handed out some healthier snack options too (yogurt, apples and little plastic toys), instead of just candy.

We had gorgeous weather, and the kids had a nice time trick or treating.

Cousin, Alli, wore an adorable monkey costume.

After the kids were done trick or treating, they had to dump out all their candy on the floor to see how much they got. :)

More Fall pictures...

Here are a couple cute pictures of the kids taken a few weeks before Halloween at Grandma Barb's and Grandpa Terry's house.
