Jackson's new room.

We recently decided to make-over Jackson's room. Nothing fancy...just a little "face-lift."

He is, after all, a big 4-year-old now; we felt the time was right to trade out his existing baby blue walls and lack of room decor, for a more "young boyish - dinosaur/sports theme."

And this is what we came up with...

Jackson was able to pick out his favorite dinosaurs and trucks to be displayed on these shelves (pictured above and below).

A big "thank you" to Uncle Zach for doing such a nice job painting the walls and ceiling for us!

Although it's not completely done, (we would, eventually, like to put new wood trim around the windows and doors, replace the doors and the floor boards, and paint his existing dresser and bookshelf) we feel it is a huge improvement.
And, from the pictures, you can see Jackson is happy with it too!

Pictures from Jessica's new room make-over coming soon...think pink..."partytime pink!"

Wednesday daycare crew.

Here are a few pictures of the kids we have at the house on Wednesdays...

These were taken just before "book-time."
As you can see, the kids have their self-chosen books in their laps, waiting for 'Miss Lisa' to read to them.

G & G Gundy home from Florida.

On Tuesday, April 6, Grandma and Grandpa Gunderson returned home from their annual winter get-away trip; they stay in Orlando, Florida from November through early April.

While they are away, Jackson and Jessica are "reminded" of their grandma and grandpa gundy by looking at(and talking about) pictures, and also through the occasional phone call.

Once they return home, however, the kids are fortunate enough to see their great-grandparents on a fairly regular basis (about once a week, or once every other week).

Here are a few shots of the kids, Bergetta, and Marv seeing one another for the first time (at the La Crosse airport) after a long winter...

Happy Easter!
We hope you all had a nice Easter this year.
Our family split up our day by going to our church service in the morning, then on to visit one set of grandparents (Chris and Bob), and then visiting another set of grandparents (Barb and Terry).
The kids had a super day!

I was able to capture a few pictures from our day.

The kids are sitting in a "sea of bunnies" in this picture:

Jason and Jackson are racing to get the eggs hidden in the yard:

Jessica is upset because her brother beat her to the last egg (which he ended up giving her because he felt sorry for her...and because mom made him):

The eggs were filled with nickels. Here are the kids emptying their "treasure" into a donald duck piggy bank:

Guess what the Easter Bunny brought!!...I can hardly believe it myself!...

(Big thanks to Grandma Chris and Grandpa Bob--this jump house was definitely a hit)

Daddy's home for daycare?

West Salem school district was off from school today, so Jason was able to (or should I say, had the privilege to) stay home with the kids and I during a typical daycare day.
What father wouldn't want to spend "a day in the lives of his children?"
Although Jason could only stay for the morning (he left around 11:00 a.m. to run some errands and finish up some work in his classroom), he enjoyed the opportunity to see for himself what goes on around our house on a daycare day.

The kids all seemed to love having Jason around. They enjoyed playing with him, and showing Jason how they all danced to 'Big Job' show; but most of all, the kids got a kick out of seeing and hearing about Jason's toolbox--which I cannot recall why he had taken out in the first place--but, anyhow, this was very interesting for the kids...

It was a nice morning...fun change-of-pace for the kids to have Jason around.

Pregnancy: 34 weeks

With just about one month to go in this pregnancy, I thought it appropriate to post a few updated belly shots...

Baby Lia is very active and strong. She weighs about 5 pounds now, and gets the hiccups quite often.

Both Jackson and Jessica (more so Jackson) are getting excited for the arrival of their new baby sister. Every few days Jackson will ask me, "When's baby Lia going to come out?" After my response, his follow-up statement is usually something like, "Holy cow, she's sure taking a long time!"
