Carving pumpkins

This is about the only picture we have of our pumpkin carving this year...




Jason and I were excited about sharing this project with Jackson this year because we thought he'd enjoy it so much.

BUT...

It was not meant to be.

Jackson wanted nothing to do with cleaning out the pumpkin goo.
Not even with a spoon could we get him to help us clean out the seeds.

"Yucky" and "Icky" were two of the most commonly used words by our son to describe the whole process.
And, Jessica could have cared less about the whole ordeal.

SO, mom and dad ended up cleaning out and carving the three pumpkins by ourselves.

Jackson did draw a few pumpkin faces on sheets of paper using color crayons; I tried to use his ideas for the faces of our pumpkins the best I could.
