Thanksgiving Feast

Jackson's Pre-K class had a Thanksgiving feast at school.
His class learned a little bit about the pilgrims, indians, turkeys, and the whole concept of Thanksgiving tradition.

Family members were welcome to attend the Thanksgiving feast. Since I had daycare at the house that day, Grandma Chris opted to be there for Jackson.

Thank you Grandma Chris!

Visiting Santa - Part 1.

I don't know what other parents tell their kids when they start asking questions, but here is the Santa story we came up with...

All of the Santas we see and visit around town (at the mall, holiday fair, local stores, etc.) are Santa's helpers.
These "helpers" listen to what kids want for Christmas and then they go back to the North Pole and tell Santa Claus.
Nobody ever sees the real Santa because he only comes on Christmas Eve when every one is asleep.
The real Santa Claus is at the North Pole right now, and is too busy making sure his elves get all the toys ready for Christmas --which is why he has "helpers" come to the mall/fair/stores to visit kids.

What do other parents tell their kids?

SO, here is a picture of the kids with the Holiday Fair Santa:

We are planning on getting pictures of the kids with the mall Santa and apparently there is a Santa that visits the local Harley Davidson shop too, so we'll be checking that one out also...

Lia's first bar

My sister, Laura, just celebrated her 30th birthday.
Her wonderful husband, Chris, worked very hard (and told many, many lies) in order to pull off a successful surprise party.

Jackson and Jessica stayed overnight at Grandma Barb and Grandpa Terry's house.

As for Lia...
This lucky little lady was able to accompany Mom and Dad to Auntie Laura's surprise birthday party --which took place at a bar in St. Paul.

Here are a few pictures of our 6 month old at her first bar...

She tried to steal the show a couple of times...

Laura was very surprised! Here is Laura and Chris when they arrived at the bar...

Elmo undies.

Doesn't every toddler own a pair of Elmo underwear?

Jessica and Carson were pretty excited today when they discovered they had each worn their Elmo undies on the same day.

Before we go outside to play, all the kids use the bathroom.
Jessica and Carson happened to be in there at the same time when they figured this out.

SO, after we come in from outside, the kids tend to "strip down" to their t-shirts and shorts (even now, in November) because our south-facing window heats up our home so much on sunny days.
While Carson and Jessica were changing, they decided to run around the house wearing just their Elmo undies.

I made them stand still long enough to snap a few pictures...

they are going to hate me for this ten years from now!

Spider week

Jackson's Pre-K class learned about spiders.

Here is a picture of them making a giant web...

Jackson is pictured in the bottom left corner.

Too cute not to share...

Jackson is the Iron Man costume --with his mask on.

Lia's first foods.

Why is it that none of my kids like baby food?

Although it still may be a little too soon to tell with Lia, whether or not she is going to be a good eater (it's only been 1 week, and we've only tried rice cereal so far).

But, if it's true what they say, and pictures really do speak a thousand words, then...

I think we may be in for some trouble...

Does this look like the face of someone enjoying their meal??
